Have you ever wondered what happens with all the hair customers are left without after visiting a hairdresser?

Well, if your hairdressor is a Chinese man, Huang Xin, then your hair is probably used in creating an incredibly detailed model of a Beijing landmark.

Beijing landmark out of hair

Mr Xin has been working on this great looking model of the Tian’anmen Gate Tower in Tian’anmen Square for over 5 months. It is 86cm long, 32cm wide and 60cm high. He used 11kg of hair to build this model. Amazing!

An interesting detail is that this model is done using only women’s hair. According to Mr Xin, women´s hair is softer and easier to work with.

He washed and dyed the hair before he gluid it on paper and then rolled it into different shapes to make his model of the tower.
