REDKNAPP: NO HUTTON APPROACH

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says there has been no approach from Hull for full-back Alan Hutton.

The Tigers are in the market for new signings, with manager Phil Brown having endured a frustrating summer in his efforts to strengthen his squad.

He has only been able to add defender Steven Mouyokolo to his ranks and has missed out on several of his intended transfer targets.

Scotland international Hutton is the latest player to be linked with a move to the KC Stadium, with reports claiming Hull are preparing a £7million bid.

Hutton is also reportedly wanted by Everton, but Spurs boss Redknapp confirmed he has not received an enquiry from Hull for the 24-year-old.

Redknapp said: "I never had an approach from Hull City for Alan Hutton.

"I don't know anything about that."

The right-back was a £9million signing from Rangers 18 months ago, but injury has restricted Hutton to just 26 appearances during his time at White Hart Lane.

FRUSTRATED BROWN IN 'NO MAN'S LAND'

Hull boss Phil Brown insists he can do no more to bring new signings to the KC Stadium before the start of the season.

Brown has endured a frustrating summer in the transfer market after a succession of strikers turned down moves to the club.

Michael Owen, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Fraizer Campbell all opted for deals elsewhere, with Bobby Zamora apparently set to become the latest player to snub the Tigers.

A £5million fee had been agreed with Fulham for the forward, but Roy Hodgson is expecting Zamora to stay at Craven Cottage.

Brown had been satisfied with the talks with Zamora and says he is pulling out all the stops in an effort to improve his squad.

"Of course I'm frustrated because I wanted to get players in and you want them in as quickly as you possibly can so you can work with them," Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.

"We need to be a bigger, better and stronger squad than last year.

"The first two weeks of our pre-season is all about fitness, but now we're to the football stage of that six-week period and you want the players in who will be playing for you next season."

Regarding his pursuit of Zamora, he added: "You do your business and hope that it falls right.

"The meeting with Bobby was positive and the communication with Fulham was positive. I can't do any more.

"You're in limbo and no man's land as a manager."
