Is Valerie Bertinelli’s bikini body anything more than crafty photoshopping

Look, I love Valerie Bertinelli as much as the next child of the 80s but this picture is totally photoshopped. I’m not saying she didn’t lose the weight, I’m not saying she doesn’t look great considering the fact that she’s a year out from 50, I’m just saying–that ain’t no size 8 body.

Bertinelli totally deserves credit for making good on her promise to drop six sizes. She’s been very public about her weight struggle (thanks in part to a lucrative endorsement deal with Jenny Craig), but I worry about the impact of plastering a total fake on the cover of a magazine that every desperate housewife in the country sees while waiting on line to pay for her groceries. As her mind raced with insecurity (”I thought, Am I really going to do this? Maybe I’m being a hater but really, is there any way this woman has the body of a teenager right now? What do you guys think? Completely photoshopped or more real than fake? Make me a believer.

Lauren Conrad hits the beach and looks normal

Aside from the fact that Lauren Conrad kinda needs a bikini top with straps, she’s look pretty good in these pics. Conrad appears healthy and happy (although she’s kind of sneering in most of the shots—probably at the photogs) and beach-ready without being scarily thin.



There’s that sour-puss face again. Wonder what Lauren’s buddy is saying to make her look so grossed out.

Spencer and Heidi Keep Honeymoon Short Due to Swine Flu

Newlyweds and reality TV stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag (now Mr. and Mrs. Pratt) cut their honeymoon short in Mexico because of the swine (now H1N1) flu. They were planning on staying a week but they left right after making the video for Heidi’s new single at Cabo.

David Cook Loses Brother to Brain Cancer

The brother of American Idol
winner David cook has finally succumbed to brain cancer. Adam Cook, 36, battled with the disease for eleven years. He was a lawyer, a husband, and a father. David Cook made the announcement at the 12th Annual Race for Hope 5K event in Washington, D.C. last Sunday.

“I actually lost my brother yesterday to a brain tumor, and I couldn’t imagine being anywhere else right now,” Cook told the crowd at the benefit for brain cancer research. “I lost one today, but I gained 9,000, and I will be here every year that they will have me.” [Source]

Kirstie Alley Admits to Gaining Weight

Former Jenny Craig spokeswoman Kirstie Alley admitted in the new issue of People that she has gained 83 pounds since ending her contract with the company. While she was with Jenny Craig, she weighed 145 pounds. Two years later, she weighs 228 pounds but she is ready to get back in shape again.

Today, Alley says she is primed to hire a trainer, toss the butter and sign up for a triathlon in order to whittle her “schlumpy” figure back down to a bikini-ready 140 lbs. “I’m going to have to work harder than last time,” she says, but “I’m way excited.” [Source]

Kirstie blames lots of butter for her weight gain. But she also stopped exercising and stopped eating healthy. Hopefully, she will keep the weight off this time.

Lindsay Lohan Says She’s Been Eating Enough

Lindsay Lohan has been getting a lot of bad talk from people because of her seemingly skeletal frame. But she says that she has been eating enough. According to the starlet, her recent trip to Hawaii was for spending time with her family and getting healthier again after a difficult month. But there could be more about Lindsay’s weight loss than she cares to admit.

Us Weekly confirms in the current issue that Lohan takes Adderall, a prescription drug usually given to people for attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, to lose weight.

“She takes Adderall all the time,” one source told Us. “She gets jittery because of the way the pills affect her. It’s a major reason why she’s losing weight.” [Source]

I think Lindsay is using her weight to stay in the spotlight. She obviously thrives on attention. She should get help, ASAP.

Longtime couple and proud parents Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard made it official last Saturday, May 2 in a small chapel in Brindisi, Italy. They have been together since 2002 and engaged since 2006. They have a 2-year old daughter named Ramona. Among the 40 guests were Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon. Would the ceremony have inspired Jake and Reese? We can only wait and see.

Gold Statue of Kate Moss

In the world of fashion Kate Moss was always worth her weight in gold, but now
she really is gold…literally. A lifesize gold statue of Kate Moss as a "modern-day
Aphrodite" with her legs tucked behind her head has been unveiled at the British
Museum.
Siren is made entirely of 18 carat gold and will be displayed in the museum's
Nereid Gallery among statues of Greek goddesses including Aphrodite.
It is the largest gold statue made by man since ancient Egyptian times, weighing
50kg, around the same as its subject.

















British artist Marc Quin, famous for works like “Allison Lapper pregnant“, “Sphinx” or
“Self“, a bust of his head for which he used eight pints of his own blood, presented
his latest masterpiece, “Siren” a 50 kg solid gold statue of international supermodel
Kate Moss. The 1,5 million pounds statue is on display at the British Museum, in the
Nereid Hall. A part of his latest collection, entitled Statuephilia, “Siren” depicts Kate
Moss in a Yoga position and has already been named “the Aphrodite of our time“.

Marc Quinn’s “Siren” is said to be the largest gold statue created since the time of
Ancient Egypt.
